Shakel Franklin, MBA
Shakel Franklin is an accounting professional currently residing in Las Vegas, NV. She received a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno and an MBA in Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Shakel’s passion for finance/accounting began with her love for math and grew to her interest in providing financial expertise to those in need. Now as a 6-year corporate accountant, Shakel has gained an array of experience ranging from participating in month end close processes, financial statement preparation, forecast preparation and analysis, budget preparation and analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, and more. She has also built quality relationships with both peers in the finance/accounting industry and working professionals in other industries to expand and influence her knowledge and professionalism.
Personally, Shakel enjoys trying new recipes (preferably plant-based), connecting with her family & friends, admiring creative expression by way of fashion and dance, tuning into multiple genres of music, and reading books related to the subjects of motivation/inspiration, Black history/cultural experiences and financial literature.
